Technical Support Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:

The technical support department provides support and assistance to customers regarding hardware and software issues.  The Technical Support Specialist is responsible for documenting incoming tech support request and for providing a prompt and professional resolution.  The role will report to the Customer Experience Manager. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Document incoming tech support request in Zendesk.
  • Leverage the tools and resources of the tech support department to meet and exceed customer expectations and SLA (service level agreement).
  • Review daily priorities and take appropriate action to ensure results are achieved.
  • Proactively communicate project issues to Director of Sales, Regional Sales Managers, and local representatives.
  • Assist department to maintain high quality, up-to-date troubleshooting documentation to assist customers with resolving common inquires.  The troubleshooting documentation could include white papers, technical bulletins, and videos.
  • Remain aware of new product developments and product launches.
  • Coordinate resolution of tech support inquires and provide the required follow-up and closeout documentation.
  • Represents the interests of Intelligent Lighting Controls through a positive and customer focused attitude.
  • Maintain relationships with Intelligent Lighting Controls reps, independent service providers, consultants, contractors, and end users.
  • Encourage open communication between team members, suggesting and driving forward ideas about how the team can work more effectively together.
  • Assist with training independent service providers to perform startups and customers on the proper use of Intelligent Lighting Controls products.
  • Suggest product improvements and developments based on issues and feedback received from the field.
  • Provide back up support to the Field Service Coordinator by scheduling startups, obtaining closeout documents from independent techs, generating operation and maintenance manuals, and assisting with department planning.

  • Knowledge of the use of electrical test equipment (i.e. voltmeter, scope, amp-meter).

Lighting Controls Project Manager / Submittals Associate

JOB SUMMARY:

The Lighting Control Project Manager is responsible for generating submittal and installation documentation.  The documentation includes lighting control device layouts, one-line riser diagrams, cut sheets, installation details, and wiring diagrams.  The role also includes developing and maintaining business relationships with sales reps, electrical distributors, electrical contractors, and specifiers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Analyzing electrical plans, specifications, and sequence of operations.
  • Generate lighting control device layouts and one-line riser diagrams.
  • Review project quotations, purchase orders, and sales orders to identify and resolve any discrepancies in ERP system.
  • Review submittal and installation documents to ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Proactively communicate project changes and update documentation accordingly.
  • Coordinate customer product requirements with engineering, operations, and production team.
  • Manage multiple projects to meet customer and project deadlines.
  • Attend and lead meetings and conference calls with clients and customer.
  • Respond quickly and professionally to requests from sales reps, consultants, engineers, electricians, and end users.
  • Assist in training department personnel.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Electrical degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with drafting software; AutoCAD, Draftsight or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and navigate electrical plans and specifications.
  • Desire to build and maintain business relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work well under pressure.
